Several months ago, while still operating on V4.20, we created a couple of new materials based on an Inconel specification under B31.3. For some reason we are now unable to see them in the list for a new piping file. They still exist in the material editor, but show as blank spaces in the material selection list. Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

When you add a "code specific" material to the database, you also must add an "all codes" entry for the same material. This "all codes" entry will have the same basic physical properties (modulus, density, poisson's ratio, and expansion coefficients), but no allowable stress data.

Having the "all codes" entry allows:
  • the material name to show up in the drop list
  • allows use of the material for all other codes addressed by <b>CAESAR II
