Hi experts,
currently im preparing a calculation for weld thickness. Its for a compressor mounted over a structure(I-Beam) which is being welded to its base on a FPSO. The flange thickness tht i have used for the I-beam is 16 mm thk and the weld is 8 mm.
My problem is tht my client is asking the calculation to validate the 8 mm thk. i considered compressive load which is contributed by its own weight and shear due to wind but the result for those loads is 0.04mm in shear & 0.2mm in compression.
Kindly help me if im wrong ASAP.Thanks in advance
