Codecalc 6.20

Codecalc 6.20 - 07/04/00 06:21 PM

When I try to access the Help feature of Codecalc 6.20, I get the error message "You need a newer version of HHCTRL.OCX to be able to read this file". What date of the file is the program looking for and where can I get a copy of it.

Neil,

In the CodeCalc directory there is a file called HHupd.exe. Executing this file will update the html help system on your computer. Do not do this if you are running Windows 2000. Theoretically, this problem should not occur on Win 2000, but you never know.

Scott,

I ran the program and it fixed the Help system. Unfortunately, Codecalc itself will no longer run. I can open the program but when I try to load a saved case, it crashes. When I try to open a new case, nothing happens. This is only a problem on the 000501 build. Everything works in the 000117 build.

Neil,

This problem has occurred on some Windows 95 systems that do not have support for Distributed Com Objects. The fix involves installing Internet Explorer 5 which we supply on the CodeCalc CD rom. The IE5 installation will freshen up your machine and install DCom95 as well as several other updates to various Windows libraries. The purpose of the IE5 installation is not to give you internet access, but to get your system updated so that you can run any products that use COM object technology on older Win 95 workstations.
