Questions due to version upgrade

Questions due to version upgrade - 10/31/18 07:46 AM

I have two quick questions due to just upgrading to CADWorx 2018.

1)In the previous version I has able to attach steel information to generic shapes. Can that still be done in this version?

2)Is it possible to manipulate steel members from the previous version? So far, the parts display, but I see how I can make changes to them?

Generic attach functionality is still available. You won't be able to edit legacy steel in Structure 2018. You will however be able to edit Structure 2017 models.

I don't have it handy at the moment, but is it possible to export legacy steel in a neutral format file such as CS2, then import it back as upgraded steel? There will be some post-import fixing but may be better than nothing.

Where is the Generic attach function located?

SGENERIC, like before. I am not sure if there is an icon for it.

Thank you!

Would you happen to know the key in for the old steel cut command where you could select line to cut the steel along?

As far as I know thats not available in 2017 or 2018 Structure. You could use the slice command, but that does not trim the CL though.
