Anyone using data extraction for line list or valve counts?

Anyone still using data extraction for line list or valve counts?

I made one years ago for valve counts for P&IDs and remember you have to delete many columns of data you do not want.

I'm looking for a tutorial if anyone can post a link of a PDF or YouTube.

If you use another automatic extraction method please specify, I'd like to see what everyone is using here.

Are you using CADWorx P&ID or Plant ?

Currently my inquiry is for Cadworx 2019 P&ID (this is where I would manually do a valve count/line list) but Cadworx Plant 2019 extraction could be useful as well.
I ran a data extract last night, valves were good by selecting objects & selecting properties of said objects [count/name/tag/size] but it only reveled objects in my drawing and I'd prefer to have a default .DXE file to use as a template incase I add a new valve type.
I also did not get my line numbers to drop.

For P&ID, you can just use the PIDEXPORT tool. Much easier than managing/updating DXE files.

For Plant, I have never ever done a data extraction. I cannot see what benefit this would give me over the regular BOMEXPORT options.
