custom shoes with weld callouts for shop fabrication - 08/20/20 05:10 AM
anyone have any ideas on how to get a shoe (made from 2 pcs of plate) to drop in an iso as 2 material bubbles (line items in BOM) with a weld identifier as well?

You would be able to build a custom support consisting of the two plates, however the assembly level is what will be reported to the Isogen BOM. You would be able to run a seperate PSC BOM that will give a breakdown at the component level.
If it must be on the isometric, perhaps you could consider a linked detail sketch ?

PCS BOM is good and so is the linked sketch (we have a standard for each shoe/anchor type)
Another option is to add an OTAP with a weld 0" thick for weld map.
We also have the shoe material description in the pipe support to drop in the standard BOM

we would want to capture the PS as 2 components with 1 weld for fabrication level data recording of each MTR per piece of place and the weld onto the spool in the field

It looks like you can have 2 supports located on the same point on a pipe. Because you can only get the assembly level BOM on the Iso, it may be an option to create the 2 plates as individual pipe supports and then place them on the exact same point on the pipe.
I tried OTAP, but that did not work well. The only thing I can think of is a custom support SKEY and an Isogen Note for the weld.

the cleanest method ive been able to cobble together is using 2 lengths of spip tapped to the outer circumference of the pipe with changed descriptions and using 2 misc component skeys together look similar to a shoe haha. it drops 1 weld row and 2 matl rows in the bom to be marked up in the field with welder and HT# data per our current iso style
