User shapes in 2020

User shapes in 2020 - 06/23/20 06:38 AM

We are in the process of transitioning from Autocad 2018 and CADWorx 2018 to Autocad 2020 and CADWorx 2020.
The machines with 2018 are displaying user shapes correctly but the machines with 2020 on them have the hand wheel on the valve rotated incorrectly.
Originally the valve actuator was turned parallel to the pipe, but due to constraints we had to rotate them perpendicular. They still are showing parallel on the machines with 2020 in CADWorx or in Navis, even if they open it in 2018.
We have deleted backup files, NWC, of the pipe drawing and of the user shapes to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem or know a solution?
We are really concerned about changing to 2020 if this is going to be a problem.

Is this a usershape or a graphics overlay ?

It is a user shape

Have you got sample files / specs to share ? Just to clarify, you opened up the model in 2020 and the valve block was rotated ?

Smells like UCS orientation to me. I've had custom topworks and supports flip around between versions before. I've also had someone save the base files with non-standard UCS orientation on some (but of course not all...) files.

This looks to be a new 'feature'. We are seeing quite a few similar issues with companies that upgraded to 2020.

Hopefully HCAS can address in a bug fix.

Just by chance we exploded one of the user shapes causing the problem, erased it and reinserted that one (we did nothing to the other identical valves) and it "fixed" all of them.
We have no clue as to why it was doing it originally or why the exploding and replace of one individual user shape made the other 20 or so that were showing wrong start being in the correct position.
