Substituting .dwg for Standard Piping Component

Substituting .dwg for Standard Piping Component - 11/21/19 01:33 PM

I saw a "how to" in a document on how to substitute a .dwg into the .cat file for a piping component. In this case it is a reducing coupling. I put a SUBDIRECTORY/DWGNAME information in the .cat file and it did not work. So I am trying to troubleshoot what the issue is.

Can someone point me to where this file might be or, even better, might suggest something to try to fix it?

Have you enabled "Graphics Overlay" in your piping rules?

Thanks. It was set to off so I then reset it.

It is now set to Enhanced Graphics, but it is still not showing up.

Does this need to be created in straight AutoCAD or CADWorx?

You will also need to run CONVERTENHANCED on any existing piping components containing this component.

Also the location of the enhanced graphics block is important. I have seen issues where it was not located at 0,0,0 but far away so then the enhanced graphcis displays way outside the current model.

Thanks VanMan.

Also, for those of you who are wondering where this is documented in the 2019 CADWorx Plant Users Guide, look at pp 314-328.

PS. I had to do type COMPONENTDWGBLOCKEDIT at the command line to get it to work.
