Clues Needed on Error: Not a Valid Value, Spec Directory - 02/18/19 10:10 AM

Starting CADWorx Plant Pro 2018 (with latest updates), an error shows as follows:

Incorrect Value Entered
is not a valid value for SpecificationDirectory
Could not find directory:

This error appears before and after a REPAIR was performed.

I have submitted a service request to Hexagon and have yet to get a response.

From Setup > Configuration Settings there is a setting called SpecificationDirectory.

It looks like this value is either blank or is referring to a network (or local) location that is unavailable.

I appreciate your response, Vanman!

Additionally, Hexagon Smart Support identified this as a Windows registry value that basically "hung" or could not be set/reset for the application's "SpecificationDirectory".

They recommend a clean re-install as well as a running a Windows utility to ensure proper settings and operation.

So, wish me luck as this will be attempted later this morning.

Watch the registry cleaner - many of them break stuff they think need "fixing".

Check permissions when installing and running the first time. If you have limited permissions, you'll need to do both with elevated permissions before the user can get started on actual work.
