"L" Lengths of Base Supports

"L" Lengths of Base Supports - 12/16/16 01:30 PM

Im using older version, but I am stumped at the moment.

I have in the ISO bom the length coming out for base ells and base supports on pipe, but:

1. the base ell support is coming out with the pos to c/l of piping (2ft - the 'L' length) plus the center to end of the elbow, in the case 3" elbow

2. the base support is coming out with the pos to c/l of piping minus 1/2 the pipe diameter.

so on base ells i am getting 2'-4 1/2" L dims and on base supports getting 1'-10 and some change.

Am I missing something here?

so no responses?

I am getting the actual length of material needed to make the base ells, base supts, and trunnions. I need "L" lengths per typical piping standards.

What does everyone else do?

I leave it blank (well, a couple of underlines so it's obvious). Users are required to fill it in based on the standard. I've been meaning to try something mentioned in the documentation (on newer releases, anyways) about calculated properties.

But sometimes it's just easier to have the user fill it in, even if it means greater chance of error.

2018 CADWorx makes the "L" length correct it appears. Only now have adjustable height shoe to contend with as it dimensions from POS to C/L of pipe which for the shop will be adequate.
