Bent pipe using default pipe

Bent pipe using default pipe - 02/27/13 10:03 AM

We have bare and lined pipe in our spec, the lined is set as an optional pipe. When we use the BENT command, it doesn't give us an option to use the lined pipe. I have toggled the Optional Items switch, and unchecked the lined pipe from being optional, still with the same result.

Lined pipe, with the flanges at the end, like with the PIPFL command?

Don't think that is possible. You could use regular welded pipe, the add the flanges manually. Set them to exist and Dimension status to Dimensioned.

You can edit the description in cedit to be lined pipe.

Lined pipe as in the long description has FBE 14-16 MILS added to the end, it is just pipe as far as the software is concerned, but we have 2 options for all sizes of pipe. When using BENT command it only is using one of the two and not giving an option to pick one or the other.

So after much toying with specs and looking, it seems that using the BENT command only uses the default pipe. If you have multiple options for pipe for a size, there is no way to have it prompt you to chose which one to use. Workaround would be to manually change the long description, while I'd rather not do this, it seems it is the only option.

That was changed in the 2019 version, right now it's possible to pick a different pipe.
