GRP Properties Available on Caesar Database 5.2 - 07/31/11 09:31 PM

Dear All ,

Currently Im working on GRP piping system, I used Caesar 5.2 version. However I found some doubt regarding to the GRP properties available on Caesar Data base (Im Working with Wavistrong 55 deg winding angle). When I compare with the information from vendor, there are some differences between Caesar properties and vendor properties.

My question is :
1. Is there any clue what is the Caesar reference to build their database (in term of vendor catalog edition, year, table no,etc). so it will easy to do verification.

2. (Im sorry before this is silly question) In caesar guidance about how to build GRP properties, there is term Sh (1:0). Can anyone help me to explain what the Sh (1:0) stand for ?because I cant find it in UKOOA nor ISO 14692 (Im only find the term Sh (0:1)

Thanks in advance for all the response given

Best Regards
WINDU

Yes, Sh (0:1) does not make sense. That would be interpreted as the hoop stress under pure axial load which (without adjustment) be zero.

The axial stress could be (0:1) but the significant hoop term is (2:1) - which is the hoop stress for a component under hoop and axial pressure load (hoop being twice axial).
