dynamic control parameters - 09/21/05 10:01 PM

Dear all,
I am a new CII user, I am not clear about
the setting of dynamic control parameters.

Place 1:In CII, Dynamic analysis-->Control parameters, here, all the control parameters are listed ,and you can set as you need.

Place 2:Dynamic analysis--> Spectrum Load Cases, here ,you can see a Directives button ,you can also set some control parameters.

Suppose all the parameters have been set in place 1, my question are:
1) To a certain control paremeter,if you left blank in place 2, does it mean CII will use the setting in place 1?
2) To a certain control paremeter, if you set in place 2, does it mean CII will use the setting in place 2 instead of place 1?

finally ,if all the parameters have been set in place 1,we can consider those setting in place 1 as default setting, and if you want to change in certain situation, you can reset in place 2,if you want use the setting in place 1,left blank in place 2,
Right?

Thank you for your help!

You should set these values on the "Control Parameters" dialog. Don't use the "Directives" settings in the individual load cases unless you have to.

I've never run into a "real" job where this was necessary. The idea behind the "Directives" on the individual load cases is so that a specific load case could differ from the overall settings specified on the "Control Parameters" dialog.
