Importing / Copying Pasting In CAESAR II 5.10

I have used Autopipe in the past and this is my first time using CAESAR. One of the very useful features on AutoPipe is Importing different Stress Models into other stress files. For Example: You would set up a separate model for the Equipment and then when you model in the piping, you could import the equipment model w/o having to indicate the displacements etc. everytime. Also useful for combining different stress models.

Is there such feature in CAESAR II, 5.10 verison?

Yes, you can import other piping models into the current model. You can find this option under the "Environment" menu in the Piping Input. Note the image next to the menu option, it is the same as the toolbar button on the left frame.

I believe the imported model "connects" at the origin point of the original model and for this to happen the global coordinates of the imported model's origin must match the global coordinates of the original model's origin point. Is there a way to import the model at a different node other than the origin point.

Also, I know you can reset the global coordinates of the origin point but can you rest the global coordinates for any other node and as such displace the full model by certain delta X, Y and Z? If you could do that then I believe the import model can be imported at any node into the other file so long as their global coordinates match ?

Also, once U import the model, there is no way to Undo it, unless you close the file without saving. The Undo / Ctrl+Z doesn't undo the import.

Not really. If the two models are disconnected, they will "plot" at the plot origin - which is the first node in the first model. You need to connect the secondary model by changing either its first node, or associating that node with the desired node in the first model using a "Restraint w/ CNode" connection.

That's a valid option. However, how do I change the first node for a model that's already modelled / finished? I tried the renumber command but it block the "Start Node" field entry for me. There are two options under the "Action" field when I click the "renumber" button- Increment and "renumber". The Increment action is selected and the "renumber" option is blocked in gray color for me. I Cannot chose that option.

When you "include" the secondary model, you have the option of specifying a node increment - use that. Then, if the first node is wrong (which it will be most of the time), just go to that spreadsheet and change it.
