Time history and PIPENET

Time history and PIPENET - 09/03/05 02:41 AM

Dear all!

The PIPENET transient module create a .FRC file, the CII/PIPENET interface tool can transfer the file to a P*.DLF file and create a complete dynamic input file.
The P*.DLF is a DLF curve and the abscissa of the spectrum is frequency axis.
So it's ok to run a spectrum response analysis, but if i want to run a time history analysis ,how to do? because it's better to use time history analysis when it comes to steam hammer problem.
Another question is: how to input a complex force file (created by PIPENET) to CII.
Thanks a lot!

Best regards

At the moment the PIPENET interface can only be used to create a spectrum input. If you want to perform time history analysis, you'll have to massage the data yourself into the proper input.

Hello,
I have been trying to import the .FRC file from Pipenet to C-II.
After specifying the node numbers for required bends, C-II asks to create the Dynamic Input File. When, I navigate to the static input file and then C_II crashes. Any suggestions regarding what I am doing wrong?

No suggestions since this has always worked. My best advice is to open a Support Request (SR) on Smart Support. Describe the problem, include the exact version and build of c2 you're using, and attach the associated files so we can reproduce your problem.

I have pipenet output .frc file with 600000 line item. For time history, how can I use this much data properly.
This is for surge analysis for a system connected to pump and emergency shut down valves.
Even for direct importing for spectrum analysis into caesar, caesar has limitation of 10000 lines. Please guide how to proceed.

That file is simply too large for c2 to handle. We need to expand the data structures in the dynamics modules to accommodate this volume of data.

Perhaps you can pre-process this "frc" file, cutting it down in size?

Thanks a lot.. We had cut down the sizes of the Pipenet output and able to use the data.
