Pipe + structure modelisation - 03/16/11 10:29 AM

Hi all,

I want to modelise a pipe with structure support as shown in the file to check the deflection in node 20

Model 1:
I modelise the support with two supports in node 10 and 30 RESTRAINT +Z and Y for both and I got an 'a' value different from '0' for the deflection (on Z axis)

Model 2:

I modelise the real support as shown in the picture with the same restraints on node 10 and 30 but connected to the CNODES 110 et 130.

the problem is in the second support the deflection of the node 20 must be 0 but I got the same deflection value 'a' of the first model.

Can someone give me some explanation or some advices to modelise the pipe with this kine of support?

You can not have deflection on node no 20 if is supported as in the image. If the pipe lay inside the angle you have +Z and Y in all points.

If your angle is fixed and rigid, you do not need cnodes. If your angle move, you can use cnodes and displacements in cnodes.

Thank you Mr Dan.
