Imposing rigid weight and/or Force in the same element - 03/11/11 01:09 PM
Dear All,
I run a model with different ways as mentioned below:
one-
I represent a valve as a rigid body, imposing some rigid weight on that particular element.
Second-
I break that particular element into two equal half. Now, I impose a force (same as of the previous rigid weight) on the end of the first half (means middle of the valve).
I run both the cases and found mismatches on restraint summary on almost all the restraint points. Force & moments in the restraint summary varies somewhere 5-10% in a particular node.
Can anyone please light on this issue.
FYI- the element is consodered in a horizontal run.
