Soil model from old buried model?

Soil model from old buried model? - 03/07/11 09:53 AM

We have an old CII file which was transformed into a buried model using the CII buried pipe modeller. We still have the original *.CII and *B.CII files.
We want to see what soil profiles have been used in the old calculations, but can't find this information.

Is there a way to see what soil profiles have been used in an old transformation?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Backup your files, then open the original un-buried job in the Buried Pipe Modeler and click on "soil models".

Richard thanks for your reply. We have tried that, but the soil models where empty. I don't know if the original model was 5.1 or 5.2. But we now opened it in 5.2. Can that be the reason why we can't see the soil models?

I have done a test and was working.

When you open the original non buried file the .c2 file will split into the old files (._a, ._j....). Check if you have also the .soi file. It should contain all the informations.

One thing you can do is to open your caesar.cfg file with Notepad. You will see the caesar version.

Then you can ask your IT department to install the same version one of your computers.

Thanks Richard and Dan for your replies. The problem is solved now. Someone deleted too much files when the CII file was open. The .soi file was missing. Luckily we had an even older version of the file somewhere to look for the soil properties.
