Why does my CAESAR II model output so different result - 03/01/11 08:48 PM
Why does my CAESAR II model output so different result under wave and without wave loading?
I think, for the pipe under the subsea, the wave loading only have a little influence to pipe.
If you think I am wrong, pls point out my mistakes.
Thanks.

I believe bouyancy is not included when WAV is not in the loadcase, so this will represnt a difference. But maybe not that big..

thanks for your idea.
yes, i agree.
i also think the wave loading should have a little effect on the pipe. so there is little difference between two cases.
So i must make a mistaken in the model.

Shown in the following pictrue:
-----------------------------------
Anytime you include WAVx in any load case, CAESAR II assumes "W" is "W+Buoy", for all load cases.
-----------------------------------
if we do WAVx load case, "W" will be "W+Buoy", "WAVx" is the action force by wave and current.
i knew that, but the wave with small parameters should NOT have a great effect on the pipe. the tow force will mainly contribute to the interaction for pipe.

Check the WAV1 case by itself, what sort of load does this put on the system?

hi Richard Ay,
would you like to give the more detail?

Did the solution to the "wave equations" produce reasonable results? Setup a load case with just WAV1 and run it. Does it produce minimal loads as you expect, or something else?
