Simulation of Reducers - 02/05/11 08:51 AM

Hi,

I have to model two reducers in series. (The first 24" to 32" and the second 32" to 40") Both are eccentric reducers. The thing is that both are just after the nozzle flange of the compressor. I saw that if I model the reducers as concentric the resultant forces and moments to the nozzle are very low respect to the eccentric description. What is the reason for this? What is the correct approach for this kind of simulation into Caesar?

Thanks

Of course, there are 8" eccentricity therefore you will have different moments (mainly). It is like you have a leg shorter or longer (pending your layout). Do you really need eccentric reducers on discharge?
Remember, M = F x L. For compressors, L is very important.
