astm B444 N06625 - 01/31/11 05:04 AM

Hi, in C2 5.1 and 5.2 the material in subject, above 426°C, has allowable but hasn't thermal expansion coefficient.
When I run error checker, C2 tells "temperature is outside the allowed range for this material" even if this limit should be up to 593°C for grade 1 and above 593°C for grade 2.
Please, can You explain me what's the problem and how can I solve it?
Thanks.

Tell us what material and we'll check into this. In the meantime, you can manually enter the expansion coeficient in the input, or use the Material Database Editor and change the data in the database.

Good morning Ay,
thanks for Your reply.
Error checker returns that error message even if I enter manually expansion coefficient in material database.
Material is (392)B444 N06625.
I have C2 5.2 build 100715.
Thanks.

The expansion coefficient data that we have for that material runs from 21 degC to 426 degC. If you have a temperature value (either ambient or Tx)anywhere in the job outside of that range, you'll encounter the above error.

Note that we only have an entry for this material for B31.3, and the generic "All Codes". If you're using B31.3, then you would have to extend the data for the B31.3 entry, otherwise extend the data for the "All Codes" entry.

If you can't get this to work, send (to Tech Support at "caesarii@intergraph.com" your "umat1.bin" file and your job file (.c 2).
