Curious to no node numbering will determine flow direction? - 12/17/10 01:20 AM

Hi to all,

Example: I have modeled 20" alloy steel pipe straight run with loops and bend around 200000 meters with 500 nodes increment with 5.starting node is 5 and ending node is 500 in first model I joined another model using including pipe file option in CAESAR II. which starting node is 500 to 5000 next 5000 to 5010 so on ending node with 2990-3000.

So If you notice here, start is 5 and ending node with 3000.

i.e; 5-10,10-15,........495-500,500-5000,5000-5010,5010-5020....2990-3000. ( there are no Cnode in this model,I can renumber the system with one increment)etc.

I like to no from you all will there will be any change in stress result due to node numbering. How accurate will be the stress results due to above numbering system, at one node point node number increment series going opposite direction?

Thanks

There is no connection between flow and node numbers so it doesn't matter how is your numbering. You may want to follow some logic for review purposes.
