Size Limit - 12/06/10 01:26 PM

I have a 1.7 km pipeline model in CADWorx 2010 that I need to have a pipe stress analysis proformed on. When I send the ".c 2" file to the pipe stress guys they tell me they cannot open the file caeser II file of the entire system but they can open smaller files.

Is there a size limit that caeser can open?

Thanks

Brian,

I am not sure, but an option can be tried.
- In Caesar open the 'configuration setup'
- Go to 'miscellaneous' there is a tab called 'memory allocated'
- Set it to maximum that is 512 Mb.

Also I have observed that in a Caesar file the node numbers can not exceed above 32000. Please check they should not exceed above this limit, else you need to split your flex file in to more flexes.

I hope this will help.

You really shouldn't set the allocated RAM to 512MB (unless your system physically has more than 2GB). The reason is because this will slow Windows down. You may need to increase this setting from its default value of 12MB, but go in the steps provided in the Configuration Module. You want this value as small as possible.

If that doesn't work, send the CADWorx file in to TechSupport so we can take a look at it.

(Yes 32000 is the maximum permitted node number.)
