hi richard,

can u pls clarify my doubt i.e.

i modeled in caeser to check the stresses, forces, moments

from node 10 to 20 DX= 11 ft, anchor at node 10.

then i have FY= 626

MX=0, MY=0, MZ = 4333. MY DOUBT IS THAT HOW WE GOT MOMENT IN Z DIRECTION AT NODE 10.

PLS HLP ME

I think you have a cantilever type of beam..The moment at Z is the overturning moment reaction at anchor point which is node 10. If you have a "Strenght of Materials" book you can check it there.

I guess no-one can answer your question without seeing the model and your input. The short answer is check your input first, if not satisfied get help from closest workmate. Sometime typing the wrong cell can give you unexpected results.

Ok
You have only one element with two nodes => 10 to 20.
If this pipe element have uniform load, or pipe density >0 , or fluid density > 0 then you build so a load along the element with the restraint result at node 10 (anchor) Fy and Mz from this without a Inputforce 626.

If you have this not and only a Force (626)at node 20, then your restraint result at not 10 will be Mz = 626*11 and a Force FY = 626.

Was the first one, he forgot about the pipe weight.
