Graphical Configuration Setup - 11/02/10 02:44 AM

hai all,

We are using CAESAR II 5.20 as a network license.I have done basic configuration setup for our Project. In that i made some graphic configuration settings also(restraint colour etc.).if we use the same UNIT FILE and CFG FILE in some other PC in network the graphic settings alone become default or as per the user defined in that particular PC.Please let me know how to set the graphic configuration to maintain the uniformity.

Thanks in advance,

You want to copy the CFG file into the \system directory of each installation. (If you installed the software on a network drive, there is only one installation.) Users can still use the Configuration Module to change these items though.

Be careful with some settings (RAM, User_ID, and some colors), they are saved in the system registry and can't be easily moved from machine to machine.

Thank you sir,

Actually CAESAR has been installed in individual PC,license access alone form network.Do i want to save these CFG & Unit File in the sytem directory?

Usually we wont keep these CFG & unit file in system Directory, only in the working folder it will be kept.Because, if we copy in directory, for every change of project we need to replace the CFG & Unit file in the system directory. Please Advise.

Thanks in Advance..

The CFG file that resides in the \system directory is the "master configuration" file. This file is referenced when there is no local CFG file in the active data directory.

The software looks for the CFG file 1st in the local data directory, then in \system if necessary.

Sir,

Though We keep the CFG in local folder as i said earlier,Graphical settings alone CAESAR refers from master Configuartaion file while other settings are taken from local active data directory.
please andvise.

No, these settings are maintained in the Registry, they are not stored in the CFG file. Therefore these settings apply "system wide".

Hi,

I get an other graphical problem with the V5.20.3 with the network licence: I can't enlarge the window to the width of my 2 screens (all my others programs do not refuse to be 2 screens large)

This has nothing to do with the licensing (local versus network). The problem is that in Version 5.20 the one "3rd Party Tool Kit" we used changed the rules of the game here, and we needed to rewrite the code that permits the window stretch across two monitors.

This is addressed in Version 5.30, which will hopefully go to Manufacturing (duplication) today.

Thank you! This has been a complaint from our stress engineers.
