Look at it this way:
A big truck (lorry) pulls in to your job site.
You ask "what on that truck?"
The yardman says "that's the piping material!"
You ask "What piping material?"
He says, "That is the pipe, fittings and valves."
You ask "What fittings?"
He says " The elbows, the TEEs, the Reducers, the flanges, the O-Lets for the branches, you know, the fittings"
You say, "Oh"

For components we will specify Schedule # and for what component we will specify Pressure Class Designation............?

Schedule = Pipe and Fittings
Class = Flanges, Valves and Gaskets

General Pipes & Fittings material in process indusry(depending upon process requirements, design conditions etc..)
Piping Material:- ASTM A312/ A358/ a778/ A53 /A106/ API 5l etc...
Fittings material:- A403 / A774 / A234
FLANGES:- A182 / A105 /A516 eTC...

Generally, the chemical composition between pipe and fitting are almost same in a line. Only but the standards applied may be different. And we consider the materials are same.
