SIF for Trunnion

Stress Engineers,
In my case, I don't have any another software that can be used for finite analysis just to provide SIF.
What are the consideration in modelling trunnion? Do I need to Click SIFs & Tee, and select type of tees in CAESAR II just for the sake of convenience to check a stress including dummy pipe portion in the piping system? but SIF values obtained from standard code equation does not address for trunnion.

Please share your idea..!

you can consider 2.1 SIF for modelling trunnion. It is just a thumb rule.

according to me u should modelled like tee so sif will be sif of tee

What do you think the sif is controlled by ? The overall shape or the connection detail ? Or both ?

There is no hole in the parent pipe where a trunnion is located.

A trunnion weld is commonly a fillet weld, whereas a tee will always be a full penetration weld.

Perhaps you have not noted the wide variation of sif's for differing types of tee. There is a clue here, that your statement is quite wrong.

Follow-up question, What is the right pratice when dealing with trunnion? Suppose I will model trunnion, then i don't have any resources to undergo finite analysis in order to provide SIF, do I need to check the checkbox for SIF's & TEE's and select type of TEE's in CAESAR II spread sheet,or just leave it blank?
In your own explaination, Is it right to select reinforced fabricated Tee for trunnion just for the sake of convenience in order to check a stress including dummy pipe portion in the piping system?

Stop confusing a trunnion with a tee. It's simply not the same.

I think you should follow Dave Diehl's suggestion above.
