WRC 107 stress calculation - 02/24/10 04:54 PM

Hello everybody

I am currently introducing myself in WRC 107 reading and trying to understanding and comparing with the Example 9 from Coade's literature.

My doubst are as follow:
1.- According to WRC 107 4.3.1.1 Circumferential stress in step 1 is stated: "...enter fig 3C and read off the dimensionless membrane force [NΦ/P/Rm]", but Coade's example gives two diferent values using fig 4C and 3C, if fig 4C is used to calculate Longitudinal stress according to WRC 107.

2.- In line wuth the above said, WRC 107 in step 2 states: "...enter fig 1C or 1C-1 and find the dimensionless bending moment [MΦ/P], but Coade's example uses fig 1C and 2C1.Why?

As I said at the beginnig I am reading for the first time, but I don't want to continue with wrong ideas or concepts in mind.

Thank you very much.

My friends

I know there are many expert people here in this forum, so I would like to have any single answer or comment concerning my doubts about WRC 107 posted before.

Thank you very much

My copy of WRC 107 (the March 1979 Revision) has this:

4.3.1.1 Step 1 - "...enter Fig. 3C or 4C and read off the dimensionless membrane force..."

and

Step 2 - "... enter Fig. 1C or 2C-1..."

Are you looking at the 1979 Revision?

Dave

Now that you mentioned, my copy reads "107/AUGUST 1965" at upper rigth corner of the cover, but I got confused because just above the document tile reads:

v.107, Mar.1979
revision kept
in separate
Pam. binder

Dave

I have Caesar II version 5.10.02 which WRC 107 analysis module has up to 1979 revision included.
I just read in WRC webpage that revision 2002 is now available.
Does later version of Caesar II have included this 2002 revision for analysis?

Thank you

Sor,

The 2002 revision to WRC 107 is identical to the 1979 revision. Curves in the charts were darkened to make them more readable.
