Wind Load Set Up

Dear Members,
I am doing some piping stress analysis that required wind load value.
Let's say we have Z is vertical and North side is Y.
In Analysis/ Static load case set up menu after select wind loads, if we use ASCE#7 Win Load Parameters, how can we set up Wind direction Specification?
I am attaching the pictures for details.Please check my set up for this case

Just replace those "Wind Direction Cosines" to suit your purpose.

Whether do you mean:
Each wind case(total 4 cases can be defined in the window) can be defined one direction in "Wind Direction Cosines" ?
For example,
if case 1 seleced for wind case, then I define "1" in "X Wind Direction Cosines", So this mean the WIN1 will be "X" direction,
then, case 2 seleced for wind case, then I define "1" in "Y Wind Direction Cosines", So this mean the WIN1 will be "Y" direction,

In my load combination, I can use WIN1 and WIN2 as wind load direction.

Whether my understanding is right?

Sounds like you have it right.

If z is vertical direction, then you have to place 1 and -1 in X and also
in y direction, whihc will gives you four sides individually acting wind loads.

If I am wrong anybody feel free to let me know.

As i understand, as per explained by stress river
1.
if the main wind direction is from South to North (Y direction)and other direction is from West to East (X direction) the wind load case will be:
Win1: set up in 'Edit Wind Case 1 of 4" with cosine Y =1
Win2 :set up in 'Edit Wind Case 2 of 4" with cosine X =1
2.
If the main wind direction is 45 degree from North ( direction is from West South to East North and other direction is from West to East (X direction)
load case will be:
Win1: set up in 'Edit Wind Case 1 of 4" with cosine Y =0.707 ( cosine45=0.707)
Win2 :set up in 'Edit Wind Case 2 of 4" with cosine X =1

Only Wind1 and Wind is enough

By doing this, i found that we cannot set up case 2 because when we input 0.707, after running, come back to the windload set up, it remain 1

That's because you have to "completely" define the direction cosines. If you only put one value in, it will be normalized to 1.

For example, if you defined a skewed direction as Xcosine=3 AND Ycosine=4, then:

SQRT(3^2 + 4^2) = 5

therefore:

Xcosine = 3/5 = 0.6 and Ycosine = 4/5 = 0.8

If you just specify Xcosine=3, then the normalization ends up being SQRT(3^2)/3 = 1.0

now one more question connecting to this how we co - related CII co-ordinates ( Elevation ) with analysis ASCE 7 elevation, as we have not mentioned elevation anywhere in the analysis please suggest.

CAESAR II will use your vertical coordinate as defined in your input (e.g., default elevation of your first entered node is 0).
You can reset that origin to the "correct" value.)

One note: it should be elevation from ground, not the reference elevation.

that means, CAESAR II takes Grade elevation 0.000 for calculations.
so for inputting we have consider 0.00 for grade level & calculate for other nodes accordingly?

yes.

My oppinion:

Setting wind directions in +/-X and +/-Y is common practice since it will be worst cases for stress evaluation.

If you have a lot of calculations in the project, you don't want to waste time for cosines calculation.
