Vibration report and Caesar utilisation. - 11/18/09 10:29 AM

Hi

I am assigned to find the actual load at the welding attached nozzle. The vessle contain the hot service and vessel is vibrating. So the nozzle will take the load from dead weight, thermal load and vibration impact load.

I will measure the vibratory factors such as frequency, displacement, velocity and accerelation.

My question is how can I apply the output of vibration measurement report (above factors) into the CII to find out the loading. And please advise what the function in the dynamic analysis is proper with this project??

Thanks.

There is no tool available. However field measurements can be done to check the stress levels.

That's mean there is no interface between the measurement output and CII input. How can we know that the dynamic analysis is consistent with actual vibration? Or Is it a constraint of CII?

This is a big question from our Client..

What you can do :
If your measurement report (displacement over frequency) have a harmonic charakter, then start a harmonic analysis.
Set/find a force on a node that will give you the same displacement answer as your measurements. To do this change the size/direction of the Force until you get the right measurement displacement as answer.

It looks to me like your data are the observed system response to some changing load. These data are not what cause the response. You must apply the appropriate dynamic load to you model. When the model responds like your data show, then you have greater comnfidence in the using the model to evaluate any changes to your piping system.

Yes the measure data came from site survay. It is pressure vessel vibration. I don't know exactly cause of vibration. So how can I apply dynamic load into my model.?
Please advise..
Thank you.

Sounds to me like a harmonic displacement. There are references to harmonic input and analysis in the User Guide, Applications Guide and Technical Reference.
