Kindly explain me how can i give the soil differential settlement value in underground piping in Caesar II model

You could use CNODE option and enter the displacement on the soil restraints created by Ceasar. You need to give displacement in Y direction only. This could be a tedious job but this is the only way...

The problem you have described is a complex one and requires an expert's review.To begin with, read an American Lifeline Alliance document on seismic analysis of buried pipes. Doing google search will also take you to a document on the same topic published by Prof S.K.Jain of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

The differential settlement can be due to soil liquefaction and can have added complications. Talk to your company's geotechnical group also.

Thanks for your reply.Presently i am doing for soil mounded slug catcher analysis.Kindly advice me what are the important factor need to be consider for slug cathcher analysis.
