Intersection Coordinate Mismatch

I have a large piping system modeled. When I click the Start Run button, error checking shows two instances of Error 44E - Intersection Coordinate Mismatch exceeds the allowable. The nodes in question are connected. I even used the close loop function to see if that would solve the problem. I checked for duplicate node numbers throughout the model and could not find any.

This started when I modified a working model to reflect changes in the piping. I deleted and remodeled a large section of the piping that included the nodes giving me this error, but this did not help.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on what to try next?

Note, c2 has no way of knowing which element is incorrect. The software detects the problem when it is computing the geometry and "it" closes the loop. The software reports the element at which "it" detected the mismatch, which probably isn't the element in error.

I would suggest using the 'alt+D' [distance between nodes] tool for confirming the dimensions between final 2 nodes for closing the loop. It is also available by pull down menu 'Edit' + 'Distance'.

When revising node numbers in a model, remember that some node numbers might not be updated, like the bend midpoint /end node numbers. Also, the node numbers of the hanger definition, restraint definition, displacement definition, etc. might not get revised when element node numbers revised.

Also verify that the node numbering does connect the elements in sequence. If the sequence is interrupted without establishing another node to connect within the previous sequence, then the separate node sequence is then placed back to the origin. (This would show in the graphics.)

The easiest solution to this is to break the offending loop somewhere and find coordinates for the two end points. You will know what to do.

Sometimes you have a repeated element with different length. Don't just look at the plot. Review the element list with a careful eye on the From and To nodes.
