ELbow Bend Angle - 06/11/09 07:57 AM
Is there any way to check elbow bend angle? I have 81 degree elbow bend in my piping drawing? What is best way to define and check that type of elbow bend angle on Caesar?
Thanks All

Not sure what you mean by 'checking' and elbow.
To define an elbow of any angle you simply model FROM the previous component TO the elbow tangent intecept, then FROM that point To the next component. If you are dealing with very small or very large angles you may need to look at the preset limits in the config file, which can be varied if neede be.
The actual bend angle found will be printed in the Input Listing File.

By checking I meant to verify that it is a 81 degree bend or not?

As I said before .... The actual bend angle found will be printed in the Input Listing File.
Failing all else you could do it with a calculator ?

Hi Anky
Since we do not extract fabrication isometric from Caesar model we should not be much worried about it.
However Caesar will make exact angle when you specify dimension properly as already mention by MoverZ.
You may specify global co-ordinate & compare any location with exact piping co-ordinate whether it model correctly or not.

As long as you define the "delta dimension" for the in-coming and out-going
tangents properly, you're bend will be of the right angle.
To see what the bend angle is, you can use the "Bend Scratchpad", it will show you what the resulting angle is.

Thanks Richard, but where is this Bend Scratchpad Option?

Assuming you haven't moved the toolbars around, what you're looking for should be halfway down the toolbar on the far left of the input window. It is a "red bend" icon.
