Error when starting Caesar II - 08/20/04 12:23 PM

I have just loaded Caesar II version 4.3 onto an XP Pro machine with 2 GB of RAM. Whenever I start it up I get the following error: Fatal Error #5333 No active NetHASP server was found. This applies to IPX and NetBios. HASP error code = 15. After the install I got this message: Failed to start the Aladdin Device Driver. Failed to start a service in the Service Control Manager Database0x2008007 0x20007 0x2. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chances are the ESL drivers are outdated: the C2 v4.3 was written before the Win XP existed. Go to Support -> Downloads, Miscellaneous Files, and get the HASP Driver V4.95 Install Utility (HDD32.EXE). Install it on the computer where the C2 is loaded and also on the computer where you run C2 from (if C2 is installed somewhere on a centralized machine/server). If the ESL device that you have is network (red), you may need to update the License Manager as well...
