Missing Material - 10/27/08 09:54 PM

Dear Caesar,

I am doing a pipe stress analysis for a section of our plant. However, i cant seem to find it in the material database. Then i wanted to manually insert the material properties but found the software asking for Modulus of Elasticity C, H1, H2 and H3 and poisson's ratio while asme standards B31.3 only give one value for the modulus of elasticity.

The pipe material as given from our line designation tables is:

304L Stainless steel Class 600 FLG-RF

Help!

Dear Mostafa

Material No. 126 in the Caesar II Material database is stainless steel flange A-182Gr-F304L. You can enter directly 126(or 277 or 157) or select form Pop up menu.

Also you can find property of materials in different temperatures in ASME-B31.3/2004 appendix C (Sheet 222)Table C-6 (Row 10).

Re: Missing Material - 10/28/08 11:13 PM

Just one last question. Can you please tell me the difference between these materials:

126: A182 F304L
277: A403 WP304L
and
157: A312 TP304L

because they all seem to have similar properties.

Re: Missing Material - 10/28/08 11:35 PM

126:Flange(A182 F304L)

277:Fitting(Elbow,Tee,Reducer...)(A403 WP304L)

and 157:Pipe(A312 TP304L)

All of above materials are low carbon stainless steel.
