License Question

License Question - 08/25/08 09:17 AM

I am unfamiliar with Caesar, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. One of the designer wanted to know if he could take a laptop on vacation with him and still be able to access Caesar.

Is there a way for him to temporarily "borrow" the license off our server/usb hardware lock and return it after the long holiday weekend?

Not without taking the lock with him and leaving your office without any licenses. The hardware lock controls the access. There is no way to "borrow" a license without taking the lock.

Further, you might be able to use GoToMyPC or the like to access your work computer from a laptop on the road, but you might be violating your company security policy, so do check first.

Thanks. I thought that it may be possible through the License Manager software, but I couldn't find anything there either.

We have the ability to remotely connect to our computers through work, it's just painfully slow depending on what type of connection you have at home/vacation.

Reasonably cost effective way is to buy 50 runs. Time doesn't run out and if your engineer doesn't keep pressing calculate then the 50 runs will last "for ever". Viewing and building the model is "free". Only successfully completed calculation counts.
