List Input issue - 07/10/08 08:15 AM

Hello,

I am having a small input problem and I am spinning my wheels a bit.

I am taking an existing piping model, and trying to add more piping to one of the branches.

It seems that when I add piping to the bottom of the list, it doesn't want to connect to the original branch. By connect I mean that there is an elbow that won't render.

Do I have to add all of the new elements directly below the last element in the branch for them to connect? If so, is there a way for me to move blocks or piping around in the list view? I have already input a lot of new piping before I realised the connection problem.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

It takes two back-to-back elements to define a bend. So if you're looking at the Spreadsheet or the List, and the in-coming tangent to a bend is defined as 140-150, then the very next element (the out-going tangent) must be 150-xxx. Once 150-xxx is defined, you can then jump anywhere else in the model you want.

If the in-coming and out-going tangents are not back-to-back, then the bend won't render, indicating the problem.

For what you're doing, I think you can just "insert" one element to finish off the bend (the 150-xxx element), then jump to the end of the model and pick up coding with 'xxx'.

Thanks Richard.

I was worried I'd have to use the insert command for every single additional element smile
