I need an advice

Pipeline of 2900 mm of diameter, 16 mm of thickness and buried 2.5 km, that code would be the acceptable mas for analysis.

In a paper i find that the pressure generates longitudinal expansions, which ASME B31.3 I do not see that considers, nevertheless ASME B31.4 if with the stress of HOOP

It is correct or I have a wrong.
thank's

Pressure in a pipe does indeed cause longitudinal expansion. Next time you go to a kid's party, try blowing up a long balloon and observe the far end !!

Incidentally, pipes also expand radially under pressure. This is not usually a significant effect, but it, in association with Poisson's ratio acts to reduce axial or longitudinal pressure expansion.
