Shabeer, I'm sorry but I really don't understand what you're trying to say.

And can you please not use ALL CAPS? :-)

Shabeer,

You have no chance of getting an answer to this until you clarify exactly what you are asking.

Hi shabeer,

I think your reffering to thermal displacements of nozzles? normally... material expands when heated. there you will find you displacement which you will have to input in piping system.. but I think.. Its better to ask your senior.. cause Im not sure if what your pointing out.. grin

Regards!

HOG and SAG are the displacements in a vessel (floating platform , FPSO etc.) that result from subjecting the flexible vessel to wave and current loading.

The Navel Architect should provide these displacements for all of your sea states.

A BAY is the subdivided section between BENTS (support columns)for a pipe rack. For you vessel, it could mean the areas between supports, compartments or stiffeners.

hi twister
thanks for ur answer.

Re: DISPLCEMENT VALUE - 05/08/08 03:14 AM

Hello Shabeer,

You should read and understand more about Hogging and Sagging before doing the analysis.

Hogging and Sagging is normally taken into consideration, when a piping system is situated in more than one FRAME, MODULE or BAY as you may call it.

FPSO are built in sections called FRAME, MODULE or BAY. Each FRAME, MODULE or BAY moves when subjected to loadings. These movements are calculated by NAVAL ARCHITECTS.

In turn, these movements are incorporated into CAESAR II model as Displacements.

Shabeer,

The best thing for you to do right now is to work with your peers.

Read your project general documents, maybe the answers to your questions are just there waiting for you.

And be more specific with your questions.

Best regards,
