We had one computer we could not get ISOGEN to work. Was clashing with something. Problem can be also in the model. Make very simple model, maybe just one bend with ends.

Billy,

If you open Caesar II and select Diagnostics->CRC Check, how many errors do you get?

If you go to Diagnostics->Build Version, click on the Build column to sort it. Do you have any 051025 builds? Do you have any 070130 builds?

Sometimes back i had the same problem. Raising my position to POWER USER having no restictions on writing to the drive having C2 installation solved my problem.

Try this, i am hopeful you will get through it.

That OCX file is supposed to already be on your machine, I believe in your \windows\system32 folder. If it isn't, find it on another machine and copy it to yours.

(Early on we attempted to distribute this file, but then on the machines that already had it, subsequently removing c2 unregistered this OCX. This caused all sorts of problems for Administrators and IT people in that many scripts and other administrative tools broke. So we had to take this file out of our installation. Bottom Line: you should already have this file on your machine as part of the OS.)

Re: Caesar II Isogen Runtime Error!!!! - 11/29/07 11:26 PM

I suspect you are using 5.1 on computer where you do not have 5.0 installed. Will not work. To fix that OCX is only the first problem. I found and my provider confirmed. You need 5.0 installed to get the program to work. COADE has not yet given a solution that I know of. If you have 5.1 and no 5.0 install 5.0 and then do repair installation on 5.1.

I have now 2 installation working after doing above. Note that 5.0 ISOGEN will not work if 5.1 is installed. You must not uninstall 5.0! If you di so install it again and repair 5.1 installation. You will have that 5.0 for ever. If you have CadWorx on same computer you may have additional problems. I had to double one of the Cadworx files with double file extention to get one of the installations to work. Still investigating.

Re: Caesar II Isogen Runtime Error!!!! - 11/29/07 11:52 PM

Sorry Richard

That sssplt30.ocx is not from Microfoft and it is not part of WindowsXP installation. It is from Sheridan Software Systems Inc. They seem to make parts for programmers so they can make Microsoft lookalike programs. This OCX is used even for viruses. Looks like it comes as part of VB development package and is then included into unknown number of programs.

Re: Caesar II Isogen Runtime Error!!!! - 11/30/07 07:39 AM

All I know is that I can't distribute this. If this is part of the c2 installation, then uninstalling c2 removes it. I made this mistake with the first 5.00 CDs, and this broke all sorts of "login scripts" and other "management software" in use by IT Departments of major global corporations.

Hi Bom,

If you have both CAESAR 5.00 and 5.10 installed on the same machine, you will see this message. I don't know why this happens because I don't have the source code of I-Configure, my guess is that the dlls with the same name and different version are installed, Alias, Ltd. was not expecting this senarios when I-Configure was written.

Hi Sir Shawn,

"Sir Jouko, Im only running ver. 5, I hear people complaining on ver. 5.1 i cant take the risk."

I post this earlier... But I had once a ver. 4.5. would that affect the ISOGEN?

Re: Caesar II Isogen Runtime Error!!!! - 12/04/07 05:56 AM

Hi all,

This one is funny solution to my problem...
I install PDS in my PC to be a support of the Caesar ISOGEN. Well it works pretty good (using PDS isogen work pretty good).

I was suspecting that the version 4.5 last was uninstall cause an error but it is not the case, we do reformat but it doesnt work!!!!! How much hour I lost? just about 4 hours!...... and the answer?? still OCX not found! crazy

I am running version 5.0.... Maybe Tech.Support people try to look my case.. And can distribute this files ASAP... One thing when I remove that Bently folder thing my ISO go nuts!

Please address my problem with your own solution...
frown

Tomorow I will work with PDS as my flatform for ISOGEN,. I hope to make my disk with lots of space for faster run...

Regards!

Re: Caesar II Isogen Runtime Error!!!! - 12/04/07 09:22 AM

Well there is the problem - according to Alias (the ISOGEN developer/vendor), only one Alias/ISOGEN product can be installed on a given machine. Here is what Alias told us when we asked this question:

Quote:
I think the best answer in the short term is that we do not recommend Caesar II and SP3D (or I-Sketch or SPOOLGEN - see below) be installed on the same workstation. SP3D installs Personal Isogen files in a different place to Caesar. Hence the last installation, which will register the Personal Isogen automation components, will determine which version of Personal Isogen is actually used by these applications. This means that SP3D would use CII installation if the latter were installed last (and vice versa of course). This results in a difficult support problem for somebody, since there is no way to guarantee that CII and SP3D both have the same versions. An additional difficulty is the project/style set up. The CII user will be using I-Configure to manage ISOGEN projects and styles. SP3D has a different approach, in that these are created “on the fly” when ISOGEN is run. This is actually a wider issue affecting not only SP3D but also I-Sketch, SPOOLGEN and AutoPlant (among several others).

Add "PDS ISOGEN" to the list mentioned above in the "bold" sentence.
