what is your idea about using gap on weight support?
i think using the flexibility of pipe to damp large diplacement in storage tnak settlement is usefull.(instead of use spring at frist support i have used support in nearest span and use hold dwon weight in second support )
in sus. case only the second support acts and that is enough.
the frist support is used only for the purpose of tank settlement and preventing exessive stress in piping.

If you think that a pipe connected to a storage tank is going to have any meaningful effect on restraining the movement of the storage tank, I can say with confidence that one of the following is true:

1. You have a very small storage tank.

2. You have a very big pipe.

3. You're nuts.

I vote for (3) in the absence of hard evidence.
