CAESAR II doesn't have a reducing elbow element. You have three options to approximate this fitting:

1) Break the elbow into two elbows (at the mid point), and change the diameter and thickness on the second elbow. (This is probably the best option.)

2) Change the diameter and thickness just before the elbow, or

3) Change the diameter and thickness just after the elbow.

Thanks Richard for your reply. I have a bit of confusion on the 'breaking the elbow' thing. Can u pls get it to me in detail. from what i understand the normal break command cannot be applied. Do i have to model two 45 deg. elbows as a typical mitered elbow. One piece of the first size of 45 deg. and the next piece of the second size of 45 deg.

Thanks again.

Yes you would model the elbow as two 45s instead of one 90. However, you would not specify it as mitered. You are breaking the elbow numerically, not physically.

Can i send you a sample model, done as per your instruction. If you could advise me on the correctness of method followed, it would be helpful. If yes, can I have your email address pls.

Thanks
