Coastant Effort Support - 11/08/06 12:18 AM

Hi all

I am using CAESAR II 4.5 which is installed from CII 5.00 Final Built.

here i have the doubt

1.How to model Constant Efoort Support?

2.When i enter the load in to Constant Efoort Support load by doing so output shows user defind CSH, hanger table shows no Deflection but shows load only. if this is true why it is being called an user dessignecsh and not programed as in the case of VSH.

3. Kindly let me know whether any more data that is required an input to generate user CSH with load and deflection.

thanks and regards

1. You can study user manual & application guide to learn to model a constand effort spring hanger.

2. When you enter the load as input to design constant effort spring hanger, the report shows "User Defined CSH". This is because you are instructing the program to follow the load specified by you in the spread sheet. However, I don't understand why you are not getting deflection. Check the displacement report for that node. You should get some vertical displacement, otherwise there is no need to go for spring hanger.

3. Same as reply #1.
