Dynamic Relief PSV Relief Calculator

Dynamic Relief PSV Relief Calculator - 12/16/21 01:25 PM

I tried searching for it in the forums and in the help file, but I couldn't find the calculation that's used for the PSV force calculations that's presently located in the dynamic analysis module.

Could someone please shed some light on whether this information was previously published?

Currently, CAESAR's help file and input/output has me a little concerned about its misapplication.

Thanks

I'm not updated with the last versions, in the past Relief Load Synthesis was based on 75-WA/FE-23 "Steam Flow through Safety Valve Vent Pipes" by H. E. Brandmaier and M. E. Knebel.
It is posted in forum, you can find a "better" copy on internet, someone posted it on files.engineering.com, scribd, etc
(just Google Steam_Flow_through_Safety_Valve_Vent_pipes)
I made some comments on that article, you can find them in http://forums.coade.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=45529
For me B31.1 model makes sense, the article- no. I posted my understanding on B31.1 model in http://forums.coade.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=70993

Thanks for the response, and apologies for the lack of clarity - I didn't specify it was for the liquid calculation. Do you remember where this one came from?

I actually thought the gas calculation was based on B31.1 and not necessarily this paper, so that is also good information to know.

Thanks

I haven't this information, you are right- the manuals and help are silent on the subject.
