-allowable stress flag in material input-

In input windows you set material for pipe.

you have 2 connected pipes:
node 10-20: material A106 pipe (caesar material n.106)
node 20-30: material A312 304L (caesar material n.154)

question1:
the flag "allowable stress" is needed in both nodes 10 and 20?

question2:
if i put the flag only in node 10, the second pipe stress allowables will be those of A106 also if material is different?

question3:
is there a way to force caesaqr to automatically set the flag at every material change?

Question 1: Yes the checkbox (flag) is needed. This indicates to CAESAR II that there is allowable stress data defined on that element.

Question 2: Yes. Allowable stress data is duplicated (carried) forward until changed. A change to the allowable stress data will require checking the "allowable" checkbox.

Question 3: Yes, any time you change a temperature, or a material, or the piping code the software should check the "allowable stress" checkbox.

3)

i have .Cii files extracted from 3d model. when i convert to ".C 2" i have NO flag on "allowable stress".

Seldom the caesar model contains different materials (and there are maaany passages from a material to another) but models are really big so it's a pain going in material table to click at material change line, returning to main input page and check the checkbox.

Is there a way to force caesar to check them ALL by default or to check automatically only when there is a material change? i would like not to do by hand..... frown

This issue is NOT with the Piping Input module, but rather the interface that converts the "3D model" data to the _A file.

Please open a Support Request on SmartSupport and send in the data file from the "3D model", and explain the problem.
