Wye SIF - 04/12/21 01:58 PM

Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me which FEA/PIPE module can calculate a Y-piece SIF please? In previous forum discussions it's mentioned that FEA is used but don't which module does it? Nozzle pro doesn't give me the option of y modelling.

Thanks

Charlot - Contact Tony at PRG (tony@paulin.com) for any advice you may need on this, especially if you have a block wye.

Thank you Richard, It seems that this module doesn't calculate SIF factors for wye or I can't find it. I'll contact them.

Hi Charlot,

As an alternative, you can model the WYE in general purpose FEA software. You can ask in your company, what is available in their system. Usually, in a certain company there are some small group of specialist performing this type of analysis.
