STATTIC SEISMIC ANALYSIS

Dear All,

I need a guidance regarding static seismic analysis.

In the Uniform load input table I need to selected g's?.

what is the meaning of G factor.

How to calculate the G.


Please guide me.

In the US the g factor is calculated per Chapter 13 of ASCE 7. It basically takes the mapped Ss value for your region and adjusts it based on factors associated with piping.

This is in contrast to dynamic analysis, where you'd typically enter the whole spectrum response graph so you can see how your systems responds.

If you search seismic G factor you'll get other posts discussing the seismic wizard built into Caesar.

The seismic wizard can be found in the "Model" menu. If you click into any of the editable fields and press "F1," it will skip to appropriate locations in the help files.

You can develop it from your location using ASCE 7 inside the US.
