How can you view what Caesar calculated Wind Pressures are?
Is it possible to view the actual wind profile that is applied to the pipework in terms of wind pressure vs height?

Well there have been 24 views and no responses. Not very helpful.

Sorry, the computed wind pressures are not reported.

Hi Richard,
So how can the wind loading be verified if it is not reported? How can the internal calculations of Caesar be checked?

This is not very good from a QA point of view.

Hand calculate the wind loads. Apply the wind loads as loads. Compare the results.

Here's another way to verify:
Build a series of one element, unit length cantilevers and set the "origin" of each cantilever to an elevation you wish to monitor. Apply your wind load to this element "ladder" and the load per unit length will be displayed in the restraint report.

I do realize that you can verify the wind loads calculated by Caesar in the way proposed but my point is that it should be part of the output Report from Caesar if one so desires.

I totally agree with the opinion of DSB1954UK.

I do not see the point of having to make separate calculations and then compare the results.

CII internally calculates the values and then uses them in their calculation routine.

Dave, why do not you test if it's possible to have the calculated values in the form of a report? If you do a survey among the users, you will see that this new report will be very welcomed by the analysts because it will be a great time saver and an indicator of error in the data entry

I agree that a report containing the applied wind pressure profile would be useful improvement. This item is in our development backlog.

I think that reporting the computed gust factor would be an useful improvement, too.

Hi All,
Glad to see there are other Users who are on the same page as me. All internal calculations performed by a software program whereby other Codes are used should have the facility of being reported so the User can check that the internal workings of the software program have interpreted the Code correctly. I would have thought this would have been a requisite of the ASME III Nuclear Commitee.
