API 619 NOZZLE ALLOWABLE - 06/19/17 02:48 AM

As per 5th edition of API 619, force and moments of nozzle connected to compressor are as annex C table C.1 which are much higher than previous edition nozzle allowable which are given by following formula.

for individual nozzle :

In U.S. Customary units:
Fx = 92 Dc,
Fy = 231 Dc,
Fz = 185 Dc,
Mx = 462 Dc
My= 231 Dc,
Mz= 231 Dc

equation 1.

Also as per 5th edition there is no criteria given for The total resultant force and total resultant moment imposed on the compressor at any connection

equation 2.

Also as per 5th edition there is no criteria given for The combined resultants of the forces and moments of the inlet, sidestream, and discharge connections resolved at the centerlines of the largest connection should not exceed the following :

2Fc + Mc <= 462 Dc

in 5th edition why these equation 1 & 2 are not included as they are mandatory in previous edition.

all expert over here can guide me on this case.

thank you in advance.

At the present time, c2 does not address API-619.

This would likely have to be addressed with the authors and/or pump manufacturers that serve on their board.
