Vibration on pipe - 03/30/17 10:17 AM

Hi,

My client has installed a valve in opposite direction(180 degree Angle) of flow wrongly and started to run the plant. As they have installed the valve wrongly the piping portion is getting vibrated. They have to shutdown the plant to reinstall the valve, which will cost them more dollars. Is there a way to perform stress analysis and provide a temporary solution to avoid vibration.

Thx.

Yes. Measure the vibrations and plug them into a dynamic analysis, installing whatever struts and such would be required.
